Laser leg vein treatment helps to diminish the unwanted appearance of certain types of leg veins, including spider veins and reticular veins. Spider veins are small veins that can be seen on the surface of the skin as red or blue spiderwebs and don’t bulge or cause discomfort. Reticular veins, known also as blue veins or feeder veins, often branch into spider veins and may or may not have a ropy appearance. Laser leg vein treatment is ideal for both spider and reticular veins that are flat, visible at the surface, less than 3 mm wide, and not inflamed or painful.
Laser leg vein therapy is a simple, clinically-proven procedure to eliminate the appearance of these unwanted veins on your legs with no surgery, no downtime, and a minimal amount of discomfort. At Valley View Laser M.D., our trained medical laser technicians treat unwanted veins with laser light that targets and constricts the blood vessels of the spider veins in the leg without harming the surrounding tissue. The specific wavelength of light used heats up and damages the vein, which is then absorbed back into the body, permanently eradicating the vein and leaving you with clear, attractive legs again.
Why Laser Leg Vein Treatment?
Laser leg vein treatment is a welcome solution for women and men with unsightly, unwanted leg veins. Until recently, the common treatment for leg veins was to use compression stockings or suffer through painful, expensive surgery. Now, a noninvasive vein treatment for the eradication of leg veins can be achieved through our advanced laser technology at Valley View Laser M.D. Laser leg vein therapy has shown excellent results in removing spider and reticular veins with minimum discomfort or side effects.
What to Expect
Each laser leg vein treatment session can take less than 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated and the amount of leg veins needing treatment. While you may see changes in the appearance of your leg veins immediately following treatment, several laser leg vein treatment sessions may be needed to reduce the appearance of the leg veins completely. Most people easily tolerate the procedure and resume regular daily activities immediately following treatment.
Laser leg vein treatment can be performed safely on all skin types. Valley View Laser M.D. will determine if you are a good candidate for laser leg vein treatments and work with you to create a treatment plan that meets your schedule and desired results. Our technicians provide individualized information on potential side effects. You should not take hot baths, hot showers, or engage in vigorous exercise for two (2) weeks following your laser leg vein treatment. Mild swelling, bruising and redness at the site of treatment typically will resolve in one month. Possible clotting, scarring, lightening or darkening of the skin, crusting, ulcers and scabbing may occur, but is unlikely.
